If you’re the maid of honour, best friend or sister taking care of the all important and long awaited Hen’s party details, make sure you read this first!
Hen’s night prep 101.
Planning can start months before the event or can be a last minute throw-together affair. You could have a small group of close friends or need to coordinate a huge group of people travelling from interstate and even overseas.
Regardless of the difficulty level of Hens planning, you’ll need to keep in mind the 4 S’s that will make sure your Hens day (and night) will be a great success.
1) Stamina - bottomless brunch, lunch time activity, pre-dinner life drawing, fancy dinner, cocktails, dancing, more drinks! It’s exhausting just reading it. To keep up withe party, we really recommend you get a good nights rest and load up on vitamin B12, that way you can be 100% refreshed for the fun day ahead and also be looking you’re absolute best.
2) Support -on the Hen’s special day and she may need support. (Literally if she has one too many!) She may also be embarrassed or slightly anxious with the pressure of wanting all the guests to enjoy themselves. It’s your job to make sure she can relax and have a blast, right? But you need support too! We recommend sorting out a second-in-command friend that you can delegate some tasks to when you’re busy running around.
3) Socials - you simply must record and commemorate the occasion! Remember to pack a phone charger, maybe create a hashtag for Tiktok, Insta & Reels. We highly recommend creating a group Whatsapp that guests can send their random pics for sharing too. This makes recording the occasion so easy. Plus you’ll end up with some hilarious and fun photos!
4) Survival - Huh? It’s a party not a battlefield. Seems obvious right? Well… you’re gonna be so busy making sure the Hen is having a good time as well as coordinating the group from venue to activity to dinner to club etc. that you may neglect yourself. Remember to drink lots of water, eat a decent meal and pack some Panadol!
Follow these 4 simple rules and you’re great planning skills will make her special party a memory for a lifetime. :)
